Students at Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) international school have achieved record results in A-Level and IGCSE, despite the disruptions to education caused by the COVID-19 crisis. 

92% of KTJ students achieved an A*-B grade at A-Level, which is an increase of 5% from 2019. The school continues to excel in science and mathematics, with 81% of students who took mathematics or further mathematics and 76% of students who took a science subject receiving an A*-A grade

Many students around the world faced challenges with university applications in 2020. Despite this, 76% of KTJ students were selected to study at the top 100 universities in the world, which include Cambridge, Columbia, LSE, Pennsylvania, Toronto and UCL. Students experienced a 100% acceptance rate for undergraduate courses in Accounting and Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics, Engineering and Law at universities such as Bath, Bristol, Durham, Manchester and Warwick. KTJ Sixth Form was proud to announce that one of their students has been selected to study medicine at Cambridge university, which is extremely competitive. 

KTJ’s IGCSE students have also excelled with 78% achieving an A*-B grade, which is a 3% increase from 2019. Chinese as a first and second language received record results in 2020, with 72% of students who took these subjects achieving an A*-A grade. 91% of students who took English Literature and 75% of students who took a science subject also received an A*-B

Established in 1991, KTJ provides a holistic approach to learning which is modelled on the British education system. The curriculum combines academic excellence with a wide range of extracurricular activities, which seeks to develop the whole student. KTJ Sixth Form also offers students outstanding support with the university selection and application process, by organising a range of co curricular activities, such as law moots, debating competitions, training events and university talks.
