KTJ and BMCC Sustainability Conference

On 6th November 2023, Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) hosted the first-ever British Malaysian Chamber of Commerce Sustainability Conference for international schools. We were delighted to welcome His Excellency Dr. Joachim Bergström, Swedish Ambassador to Malaysia, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Bergström offered his perspective on the role that Generation Z can play in addressing the climate crisis. We were joined by students from four other international schools, Asia Pacific School, Charterhouse Malaysia, Epsom College Malaysia and Nexus International School Malaysia, who shared ideas and swapped experiences with our students. The event concluded with an interesting and innovative “Greenstorming” session. Each group of students came up with a solution to their challenge and presented it to the attendees. Overall, the conference was a huge success and motivated the students to act upon the Sustainable Development Goals.
