Welcome to Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar! KTJ is one of the region’s premier international schools for students aged 3 to 19 years.

We have a strong set of guiding principles which are reviewed regularly in consultation with the wider KTJ community. During our 30-year history these principles have evolved to reflect the changing nature of education and the successful growth of the School, but in every iteration they continue to reflect the original aims for the establishment of the School by the Founding Trustees.

These original aims included the establishment of a British-style boarding school which was firmly rooted in its Malaysian and South East Asian context; as well as a focus on holistic education, the development of global citizenship, the championing of sustainability and the promotion of diversity and inclusion.

The School is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), and, as such, we ensure that our guiding principles align with the CIS Code of Ethics

Our Vision:

To be the school of choice in South East Asia, empowering students to become responsible leaders of a sustainable, global community.

Our Mission:

To nurture and inspire our diverse learning community, providing a holistic, British-style day and boarding school education in a Malaysian setting.

Our Values:

Integrity, Empathy and Mutual Respect

Dr Glenn Moodie, the Principal of KTJ, leads the team that makes the school a top choice for students and parents alike. In this video, he speaks passionately about KTJ’s vision and mission, the holistic development of students and how a well-rounded curriculum creates pathways for their success in school, university and beyond. Dr Glenn is also a strong advocate for the protection of the environment, and that is reflected in the school’s direction.

To fully appreciate KTJ’s 80-acre campus and facilities, we highly recommend that parents and students book a visit or reserve their place on an Open Event.
