Day students at KTJ experience the many benefits of belonging to a vibrant and diverse boarding community, whilst still residing off campus.

Every child is different and we want you to be able to choose the right educational experience for your family. For many, that will be to choose to experience this busy and exciting school as a day student.

Why choose to be a Day student?

Why choose to be a Day student at KTJ? KTJ offers far more than a typical day school experience. One of the key features of KTJ is the extensive co-curricular (CCA) programme and vast number of enrichment opportunities, which are available to both boarding and day students. Outside of the classroom, students can immerse themselves in community service, engage in sports, hone their musical talents, or attend inspiring talks from expert speakers during evening enrichment sessions. With endless opportunities to explore and grow, our day students have plenty of room to develop new skills and  discover hidden talents.

Day students may arrive as early as 7.30am and stay until 9.00pm when the two Day Houses close. Flexibility is important, and day students can choose to have both breakfast and the evening meal each day if they wish, in addition to the daily lunch. This is to allow them to make full use of all the activities on campus, to help you manage your busy lives, and all at no extra cost.

Students in Years 7 and 8 (Forms 1 and 2) will join the Naquiah Day House, as they are carefully guided through the beginning of their time here. In Years 9 to 11 (Forms 3 to 5) students progress to Rahman House, another home from home, as they learn more about themselves, experience ever deepening friendship groups, and embark on important public exams in an encouraging and positive work environment. For students entering our Sixth Form (Years 12 and 13), boarding becomes compulsory, offering a valuable transition that equips them for the independence of university life.

Day House Facilities

The Naquiah Day House offers first-class, welcoming communal spaces where students can relax, play games, read, or hang out with friends. Designated study areas provide a quiet environment for completing schoolwork, while the well-equipped  pantry offers a convenient spot for snacks.

Naquiah Day House

In a new initiative, Rahman House was established at the start of the 2024/25 academic year. It has a dedicated team of tutors, fully focused on the needs of the day students in their care.

Plans have moved on at a fast pace, and Rahman House will take ownership of a state-of-the-art facility, right in the heart of the Secondary School, when it opens in October 2025. In this exciting capital project, Senior day students will soon benefit from comfortable lounging areas, a games room, a wide range of dedicated study spaces, a fully equipped kitchen, lockers, showers and toilet facilities, and even a cinema room. There is a clear mission to provide a sector leading, flagship Day House in the Independent Sector in Southeast Asia.  It is an exciting time to join!
