Our Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) programme has been carefully designed to enable our little learners to flourish. We offer a variety of topics from dancing and movement to outdoor adventures.
As our Nursery children are still very young and are becoming familiar with their new school life at KTJ, they have CCAs during the school day. This ensures they are being exposed to all the fun learning opportunities whilst balancing their wellbeing. Nursery children are collected from school at 2.15 p.m.
For our students in Reception, our CCA programme works a little differently to help prepare the children for Year 1. We want to gradually introduce aspects of the Key Stage 1 curriculum into their routines, provide them with the opportunities to spend time with different teachers and to enhance their confidence at KTJ. This also helps to prepare the children to experience longer days at school and build some resilience to engage in learning for longer periods of time.
Please see the timetable below that outlines the gradual increase of CCAs that are on offer to Reception throughout the year that they can select.
Term 1 | Term 2 | Term 3 |
1 CCAs per week | 2 CCAs per week | 3 CCAs per week |
Examples of CCA options for our Early Years students include:
- Gymnastics
- Kite Flying
- Little Clay Creators
- Mindfulness Yoga
- Music Play Time
- Origami/Crafts
The communication between teachers and parents in Early Years has been exceptional. I always know how my child is doing, and the regular updates on Seesaw, as well as the Entry and Exit Points, make me feel involved in their development. It's clear the teachers genuinely care and value our input as parents.
