Hariz Achieves Prestigious Gold Duke of Edinburgh International Award

KTJ is proud to celebrate Hariz’s remarkable achievement in receiving the Gold Duke of Edinburgh International Award at a national ceremony officiated by YB Hannah Yeoh, Minister of Youth & Sports. This year, only 76 recipients across Malaysia were honoured with this prestigious accolade, and Hariz’s dedication and perseverance truly set a high standard.
To earn the Gold Award, Hariz devoted an extraordinary 402 hours across five key sections of the programme. In the Skills category, he mastered the art of crochet through KTJ’s Fibre Arts CCA, while his Physical Recreation saw him train rigorously for a marathon. His commitment to Voluntary Service was equally inspiring, as he championed youth leadership and education by organising student-led Scholarship Workshops for SPM students, volunteering at education-related events, supporting the 24 Hour Race, and contributing to flood-aid initiatives.
Hariz’s Adventurous Journey tested his endurance and resilience with a four-day, three-night hike through Bukit Batu Putih in Port Dickson, covering 80 kilometres, alongside water-safety and confidence activities at Pantai Tanjung Tuan. For his Residential Project, Hariz travelled to China, where he spent a week facilitating cultural exchange sessions, exploring heritage sites, and collaborating with students from Henan University on technology-cultural research focused on artificial intelligence.
This outstanding accomplishment reflects Hariz’s dedication to community service, global citizenship, and leadership, and KTJ congratulates Hariz on this exceptional milestone!
