Introducing Rahman House: KTJ's New Senior Day House

Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar (KTJ) has proudly announced the launch of Rahman House, a brand-new Senior Day House unveiled during a recent secondary school assembly. The announcement was made by Dr Glenn and Ms Chesworth, who introduced the name, emblem, and colour of the House to a captivated audience of students and staff.
Rahman House is named in honour of YM Tunku Abdul Rahman Aminullah bin Tunku Imran, son of KTJ’s Royal Founder, YAM Tunku Tan Sri Imran ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar. This new House not only enriches KTJ’s House system but also deepens its ties to the school’s royal and historical roots.
At the helm of Rahman House is Mr Andrew Chessell, the newly appointed Director of Senior Day House Strategy. Mr Chessell brings a wealth of leadership and pastoral experience to KTJ, having previously served as the Housemaster of a Day House at the prestigious Rugby School in the United Kingdom. Under his guidance, the Day House at Rugby saw remarkable growth, expanding from 65 to 115 pupils—a testament to his ability to build thriving, supportive House communities.
Rahman House will be represented by a majestic falcon emblem, designed by KTJ student Jaden Nowuram, reflecting power, precision, and freedom. The House colour is elegant black, symbolising strength, unity, and sophistication.
The creation of Rahman House marks an exciting new chapter for KTJ, promising to enhance student life, foster identity, and celebrate individual and collective achievements within the school’s inclusive and dynamic environment. Renovations to the new House facilities are currently underway, with further updates expected soon.
