Shababa Billah

"No Shababa, you are going!". These five simple words saved my life; changed my outlook; reshaped my journey and made me the person I am today. Born in Dhaka Bangladesh, reborn in Malaysia, raised to stand out and be an entrepreneur. Those five words belonged to my Mom and I am forever grateful to her for bearing the pain of sending her child to boarding school at seventeen because she wanted a brighter future for her daughter. Kolej Tuanku Ja'afar (KTJ) was my second birth place. The place that taught me independence, resilience and a strong frame of mind. It was there that shaped me to strive to be the best version of myself, and assist people to find the best in themselves. Everyday, I am training for an extraordinary life and strategising for a better future. I walk the talk and passionately and relentlessly endeavour to make a difference. Innovation is in my blood. I seek to find ways to adapt when needed and disrupt when possible. For the past 10 years, I have been at the forefront of beauty evolution and health as an intrepid business strategist, thought leader, functional operator. I develop solutions and ideas that have enabled stronger customer engagements, retention and loyalty. Almost anyone can start a business. Many people can run a business. But to find fulfilment in what you do each day - to wake up excited to go to work - your role in your business must align with your natural gifts. I discovered this key concept through years of experimentation. Most people who start businesses would consider themselves entrepreneurs. But that's not necessarily the case. True entrepreneurs live for scaling companies and turning profits. They have high risk tolerance. They are always looking for the next big thing. They're visionaries who create the mission and direction of the company. Today, I am a serial entrepreneur and I am back in Malaysia, the place I was reborn. It feels just like home. My focus and goals are empowering the women in my country, Bangladesh. I want to represent these amazing women and inspire them to keep on aiming for their goals and not to stop until they can achieve them. I want them to know that "THEY CAN". I want the youth entrepreneurs of Bangladesh to know that when the journey gets tough, it is time to push harder and persevere because "calm see never made a skilled sailor." I gravitate towards the finest and I want to help my people strive for the best. Thank you, Mom, for making the hard decision. Thank you KTJ and my very amazing teachers for reshaping my path. Finally, thanks to myself for not ignoring my true potential and going after my dreams.
